This James Bond Island speedboat tour takes you across Phang Nga Bay from Phuket in one full day. You’ll paddle a canoe around Hong Island, step into a cave, see the limestone rock made famous by The Man with the Golden Gun, eat lunch in the stilt village of Koh Panyi, and finish with a swim at Zcoco Beach. The speedboat keeps the crossings short, so most of the day goes to the stops themselves.
After hotel pickup you transfer to the pier at Leam Nga and board the speedboat. The route moves through the bay in a loop: Hong Island first, then the cave stop, James Bond Island, lunch at Koh Panyi, and Zcoco Beach in the afternoon. Each stop has a set time, around 30 minutes at the cave and at James Bond Island, 60 minutes for lunch and 60 minutes at Zcoco Beach, so you can plan photos and breaks without feeling rushed. The tour is back at the hotel by about 17:00.
The canoe stop is the most active part of the day. You paddle with a guide through lagoons and narrow channels between limestone walls, and access to some of the inner lagoons depends on the tide. No experience is needed, since canoes are shared and guides lead the way.
James Bond Island is the limestone pinnacle that appeared in The Man with the Golden Gun, and it’s the main photo stop of the tour. It’s a small area and busy at midday, so the 30 minutes pass quickly. Go straight to the viewpoint first and wander afterwards.
Koh Panyi is a fishing village built on stilts over the water, home to a Muslim community. Lunch is included, and the hour here gives you time to walk through the village and look at the local shops. Bring a little cash if you want snacks or souvenirs.
The last stop is an hour at Zcoco Beach, with white sand and clear water for swimming. It’s a relaxed ending after a day of short, busy stops.
The tour runs daily. From about November to April the sea is calmer and the light is best for photos. From May to October there’s more rain and the sea can be rougher, although Phang Nga Bay is more sheltered than the open Andaman. Bring swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. A waterproof bag protects your phone and camera from spray on the boat. Carry a little cash for Koh Panyi, and wear shoes you can easily take off for the canoe and the beach.
