This Krabi emerald pool tour combines the region’s best-known nature stops in one full day: natural hot springs, a swim in Emerald Pool, a hike to the Blue Lagoon, the Tiger Cave Temple and an ATV ride through the forest. Groups are capped at 10 people, hotel transfer, BBQ lunch and national park fees are included, so you can focus on moving from one stop to the next without planning anything yourself.
After hotel pickup in the morning, the day moves from calm water to active stops. The morning is for the hot springs and the pools, midday is lunch, and the afternoon covers the temple and the ATV ride. You’re back at your hotel in the late afternoon, around 16:00 to 16:45 depending on your location, so plan for a full day of about 8 to 9 hours.
The first stop is a set of warm natural pools in the rainforest, with a walk to a freshwater jungle pool nearby. The warm water is relaxing early in the day, and the shade keeps the walk comfortable. Bring a towel, because you’ll go in more than once.
Emerald Pool is a natural freshwater pool with clear, green-blue water, set in the forest. The walk in is on a short, easy path, and swimming is allowed. From there the tour continues on a hike to the Blue Lagoon, where the water is a deeper blue. Wear shoes with grip, because the path can be wet and slippery after rain.
The Tiger Cave Temple is a Buddhist forest temple on a hill, known for its long staircase to the viewpoint at the top, with more than 1,200 steps. The climb is steep and tiring in the heat, so go at your own pace, carry water and take breaks. Cover your shoulders and knees at the temple, and you can stop at the base if you’d rather not climb.
The final activity is a guided ATV ride on forest trails, suitable for beginners after a short safety briefing. If the ATV is your main reason to come, see our dedicated Phuket ATV tour for a longer ride in Phuket, or ask us about ATV options in Krabi.
The tour runs daily. The dry season, roughly November to April, is the best time, with clearer water, firmer trails and a better chance of good light at the pools. In the rainy season the paths are muddier and the water can look cloudier after heavy rain, so go with a flexible mood and good shoes. For more on timing your trip, see our guide to the best time to go to Krabi.
Wear swimwear under comfortable clothes, and bring a towel and a change of clothes. Closed shoes with grip are best for the hike and the temple steps, since sandals can slip. Add sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and a waterproof bag for your phone and valuables. Cover your shoulders and knees for the temple.
It suits couples, friends and families who like nature, a bit of hiking and a mix of relaxing and active stops. Children can join with adult supervision, and children aged 4 to 11 book at the child rate. The temple stairs and the hikes are demanding in the heat, so travelers with knee, heart or mobility problems should contact us before booking, and can skip the climb.
This is the full-day land tour with hot springs, pools, the temple and an ATV ride. For a shorter version, see our hot spring, Emerald Pool and Tiger Temple tour. For a sea day, try the Krabi 4 islands day trip or the Hong Island tour. For an evening, see the Krabi sunset tour. For elephants, see our Krabi elephant tour.
