The whole experience lasts about 2 hours, and the ATV ride itself takes around 45 minutes. Here’s how the time is spent.
You arrive at the camp, register, and relax with snacks and refreshments while a guide explains the safety rules. This part is short, but it matters: it covers how to ride, how to follow the group, and what to do on slopes and bends.
Before the trail, you ride a guided lap inside the base camp. It’s the moment to get used to the throttle, the brakes and the steering, so the jungle section feels easy rather than stressful.
Then the group heads out behind the guide. The trail climbs hills, drops into valleys and crosses dirt tracks through the trees. You ride at a steady pace, and the dust or mud you pick up depends on the weather. That’s part of the adventure, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
The trail ends at a quiet spot above the sea. This is where most of the photos happen: the swing over the jungle, the open view of the water, and a cup of local bamboo coffee. Nearby, you can feed milk to the small goats, which kids and adults both enjoy. A cold coconut drink finishes the stop before you ride back to camp.
Many ATV rides stop at the ride. This one adds a destination and a few small things to do once you get there, so the day feels like an outing rather than a quick activity. Everything runs in one guided loop, you don’t need to plan anything, and the base camp, the briefing and the viewpoint are all part of the same booking.
It suits friends who want something active, couples looking for a shared experience, and families with older children. No experience is needed, because the briefing and the practice lap are designed for first-timers. Children aged 4 to 11 book at the child rate, and for younger children please contact us before booking so we can confirm what’s possible.
Wear closed shoes and clothes that can get dusty, and bring sunglasses and sunscreen. Helmets and safety gear are provided. Travel light and leave valuables at the hotel, since the trail is bumpy and dusty. The tour runs daily, and the dry months, roughly November to April, give firmer trails, while the rainy season makes them muddier and more adventurous. If conditions are unsafe, the schedule may change, so contact us if the forecast worries you.
You can choose round-trip hotel transfer or meet directly at the base camp, whichever suits your plans.
If you want a classic guided ride with a step-by-step first-timer guide, see our Phuket ATV tour or the 45-minute ATV ride. For more action in the same trip, try the Hanuman World zipline or the full-day water rafting adventure. For a sea day, see our Phi Phi island tour by speedboat.
